Weekly Briefing 18 April 2021

“Peace be with you!” are some of the first words Jesus offers his disciples when he suddenly comes and stands among them following his resurrection (John 20:19).

This short phrase is reflected in the words of our Sunday services, both at the greeting and when we share the peace, and is accompanied by the response, “and also with you.” It would have been a common expression of greeting, with the response, used by Jesus and other Jews, as follows......
