For Whom the bells tolls!

People might understandably have wondered what was happening on Wednesday afternoon this week as they heard a bell toll in Tidenham - Is there a fire in the village? Has there been a royal birth?  Have the French invaded?

None of the above. For the first time in nearly five months, Cate Phillips has been ringing the treble bell in Tidenham Tower. This was for our pre-recorded online service. Since the fifth century church bells have rung out praise to God and called the faithful to worship. This Sunday the theme is 'Called to be exultant!' so it seemed fitting to ring the bell again.

Nicki Bullivant, our new curate, will be sharing a few thoughts about what it means to exalt God and members of our congregations will be sharing some headlines of what God has been doing in their lives to give him glory. The online service will be available from 9am on Sunday morning on the parish Youtube channel.

There will also be a live communion service at St Mary and St Peter's church in Tidenham at 10am. Safety precautions are in place and numbers are limited so please book a place by contacting Clare, the parish administrator. Following government instructions you will need to wear a mask and abide by social distancing rules.

Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join us on zoom for coffee (BYO) and chat at 11.30am. The link is available on the weekly briefing.
