The Collect: O God, the strength of all those who put their trust in you, mercifully accept our prayers and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without you, grant us the help of your grace, that in the keeping of your commandments we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Post Communion Prayer: Eternal Father, we thank you for nourishing us with these heavenly gifts: may our communion strengthen us in faith, build us up in hope, and make us grow in love; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PARISH NEWS & INFORMATION

Resuming Communion in Both Kinds i.e. returning to receiving the wine at Communion.
The CofE website has amended its guidance on Communion in both kinds COVID 19 Guidance v3.1_0.pdf (churchofengland.org). The Diocese of Gloucester has also given guidance. As a result, a decision has been made by the Vicar and Tidenham PCC to resume the offer of the chalice at Communion at all relevant services, and communicants will be offered the chalice from which to take a sip of consecrated wine as well as the bread.

Three things to note:
1. No one must feel under compulsion to receive the cup. After many months of restrictions, not everyone will feel comfortable or safe doing so.
2. Communicants should NOT dip their wafer into the wine (intinction), which can lead to fingers going into the wine as well.
3. If anyone feels unwell and has symptoms of a virus/bug, please think of others and do not partake of the wine.
As the future of the Virus is still unknown, this decision will be kept under review as the weeks go by.
JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS! If you think it’s all over…..! The celebrations are not over yet and we are having our own Parish Jubilee Celebrations on 16th and 17th July. This will involve a whole host of activities at all three churches. There are flyers in church and round about the community and Brian and Marje Duerden are the main point of contact on 01291 623310 or bduerden70@gmail.com. If you can help eg. running a game or stall or just lending a hand, please contact Emma.
BREATHE are looking for female volunteers - mentors to support girls and young women who live in the Forest of Dean. No experience needed as all training will be provided! If you have a heart for young people, you could help to support youngsters facing challenges in their lives locally. See www.breatheyouth.org.uk or contact Ruth Julius 07738 422831 or rjulius@breatheyouth.org.uk or Duncan de Gruchy 07375 147924 or ddegruchy@breatheyouth.org.uk
Volunteers Please! Could you volunteer once a month (or less) on a Sunday morning at St. Luke’s to play and look after any Under 3s? If you think that you can help, please contact or see Emma. Thank you.
Another Volunteer Please! We need someone to drive a 17-seater minibus on 6th August and again on 11th August please. There is a Christian Youth Festival at Stafford Showground with two other church youth groups from the Forest of Dean and we need help to transport some of our young people. Again, please contact Emma. Thank you.
Ukrainian Crisis – There are a number of Ukrainian families who have joined our community, with more to come. If you could volunteer for some kind of help and hospitality church response for these families, please let Revd Nicki or Vicar David know. Specifically, we really do need help with transport to and from church. Again, please let Revds David or Nicki know. Many thanks.

Recently a family, a mother and two children from Mariupol, moved into the parish. Is anyone who can host her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, so that they could live nearby and support one another. If you can help, please contact Grace on 07714 349210. Thank you.

Children’s clothes please – please contact Emma, if you have any girl’s clothes 6–10 yrs and boy’s 13–14 yrs. We have a family in desperate need – thank you.

St Luke’s Coffee Morning – from 27th June, we will be relaunching the Welcome tea/coffee and cake morning. This will be held 10.30-11.30am (slightly earlier this first one!) on the LAST MONDAY of each month. Please pop in and see how a friendly cuppa and a chat can change your day. Contact Polly paulinemorgan23@gmail.com or Revd Nicki nicki1002@hotmail.co.uk for more information.

Save the Day 2023 – you may have seen Spring Harvest on Songs of Praise recently and we are thinking of taking a group to Minehead in 2023. This would be Easter 2023, Monday 10th April to Friday 14th April. Booking lines open on 8th June 2022 and early bird offers are valid until 31st July 2022, so we could try to proceed with this soon.
