The Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, you have given us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity: keep us steadfast in this faith, that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Post Communion Prayer: Almighty and eternal God, you have revealed yourself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and live and reign in the perfect unity of love: hold us firm in this faith, that we may know you in all your ways and evermore rejoice in your eternal glory, who are three Persons yet one God, now and for ever. Amen.

PARISH NEWS & INFORMATION

Resuming Communion in Both Kinds i.e. returning to receiving the wine at Communion.

The CofE website has amended its guidance on Communion in both kinds COVID 19 Guidance v3.1_0.pdf (churchofengland.org). It now states that, while many churches are resuming giving the chalice, the final decision to do so does rest with the vicar of each parish.

Revd David and Tidenham PCC have decided that with the significant reduction in Covid cases locally, it is now safe to resume the use of the chalice at communion.

Now Holy Communion will be made available in both kinds to our three congregations. The use of the Common Cup will be resumed, that is to say, Communicants will be offered the chalice from which to take a sip of consecrated wine.

Three things to note:
1. No one is required to receive the cup. After many months of restrictions, not everyone will feel comfortable or safe doing so.
2. Communicants should NOT dip their wafer into the wine (intinction), which can then lead to fingers going in the wine as well.
3. If anyone feels unwell and has symptoms of a virus/bug, please think of others and do not partake of the wine.
JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS! If you think it’s all over…..! The celebrations are not over yet and we are having our own Parish Jubilee Celebrations on 16th and 17th July. This will involve a whole host of activities at all three churches. There are flyers in church and round about the community and Brian and Marje Duerden are the main point of contact on 01291 623310 or bduerden70@gmail.com. If you can help eg. running a game or stall or just lending a hand, please contact Emma.
BREATHE are looking for female volunteers - mentors to support girls and young women who live in the Forest of Dean. No experience needed as all training will be provided! If you have a heart for young people, you could help to support youngsters facing challenges in their lives locally. See www.breatheyouth.org.uk or contact Ruth Julius 07738 422831 or rjulius@breatheyouth.org.uk or Duncan de Gruchy 07375 147924 or ddegruchy@breatheyouth.org.uk
Folk Club - St Luke's Tutshill, this coming Saturday 11th June. Doors open at 5.30pm for 6.00pm -8.30pm. We will be serving tea and coffee and you are welcome to bring along anything else that you would like for refreshments. Please let Tanya and Bill know, if you will be able to come along. Another Volunteer Please! We need someone to drive a 17-seater minibus on 6th August and again on 11th August please. There is a Christian Youth Festival at Stafford Showground with two other church youth groups from the Forest of Dean and we need help to transport some of our young people. Again, please contact Emma. Thank you.
Ukrainian Crisis – There are a number of Ukrainian families who have joined our community, with more to come. If you could volunteer for some kind of help and hospitality church response for these families, please let Revd Nicki or Vicar David know. Specifically, we really do need help with transport to and from church. Again, please let Revds David or Nicki know. Many thanks.

This will be held 10.30-11.30am (slightly earlier this first one!) on the LAST MONDAY of each month. Please pop in and see how a friendly cuppa and a chat can change your day. Contact Polly paulinemorgan23@gmail.com or Revd Nicki nicki1002@hotmail.co.uk for more information.

This would be Easter 2023, Monday 10th April to Friday 14th April. Booking lines open on 8th June 2022 and early bird offers are valid until 31st July 2022, so we could try to proceed with this soon.
