Online Services for Holy Week

Although we can't gather in our church buildings for worship we are continuing to meet together virtually. We are the body of Christ joined by the one Spirit and we meet together in our different places in his name.

On Palm Sunday, 5th April at 9.30am Revd Janice Hamilton will be livestreaming a short reflection for Palm Sunday and Holy Week on Facebook. This will be followed at 10.30am with a pre-recorded service, available on the Parish Youtube channel. It will include a blessing of palms and a virtual procession with Emma Philips' donkeys - Daisy, Dixie, Bellatrix and Bluebell. This service will also include the traditional reading of the Passion narrative from Matthew's Gospel. Come prepared with an old palm cross or improvise with a home made one or a branch, twig or leaf from the garden! Words of songs and liturgy will be available to download here soon.

On Maundy Thursday, 9th April at 7.30pm, Revd Janice will lead a service of reflection on Jesus' Last Supper on Youtube. Although we can't wash one another's feet or celebrate Communion together this service will include creative alternatives to help us to engage with the story. You may like to come prepared with a bowl of soapy water, a towel, a mobile phone, a glass/cup and a grape!

On Good Friday, 10th April at 2pm, Revd Janice will livestream on Facebook an introduction to a devotional resource which has been prepared using poetry written by Fiona Gardiner and music by Alex White. This will be available afterwards as a filmclip to download from Youtube and will take about 12-15 minutes to use.

On Holy Saturday, 11th April at 9pm, Vicar David will host an Easter Vigil on Zoom. We will read together the scriptures and light candles in our homes as we wait and watch for the resurrection. To join the zoom meeting click here.

On Easter Sunday, 12th April at 10.30am, Vicar David will offer an Easter message and celebrate Holy Communion at the Vicarage. This will be available to follow on Youtube.
